Rolling hills, sunny California, and some vintage direct flash photos, what more could photographer ask for? I am so excited to share all the details of Nicolle and Tyse’s Tuscan inspired wedding day in Murrieta California. This was easily one of my favorite weddings of 2023.
One of my favorite things about California is all the different sceneries. From ocean, to mountains, California truly has it all. For Nicolle and Tyse’s summer wedding day, they said their I do’s at a piece of Italy in SoCal. If you are wanting to do a destination wedding in Tuscan hill country of Italy, but don’t want to travel there, California is the perfect alternative. With rolling hills and Columnar trees, California mirrors Tuscany perfectly.
Nicolle and Tyse held their wedding at Nicolle’s family owned venue in Murrieta. So not only was this a stunning location, but it was also very sentimental and nostalgic for Nicolle to get married at her families venue and home. It was very important to Nicolle and Tyse that the wedding venue was captured and preserved, so I photographed intricate details around Nicolle’s families estate. From the beautiful flora and fauna of the outside, to the stairs, arches, and sculptures on the inside, I loved capturing all the details of the beautiful estate.
Nicole had a very vogue-esque vision for her getting ready photos, and I had the best time bringing those visions to life and collaborating with her ideas. Nicole wore a silky white robe and night gown to get ready in, so after we documented the candid moments, we wanted to have a little fun. She pranced around her family’s estate, wrote on the mirror with lipstick, and drank champagne, while I photographed her on both film and digital.
After we finished up Nicolle’s getting ready photos, it was time to put on the dress. Nicolle’s dress was strapless, corseted, and sleek. She later decided that she wanted her to add some excitement to the dress, so she added a custom bow to the back that is absolutely to die for. She wore soft makeup and her hair down in long waves. She also added a tiered veil that she wore for the ceremony.
Nicolle’s bridesmaid’s wore all black dresses, each with a different style to suit their personalities. Instead of carrying bouquets, all the bridesmaids carried floral baskets. This was one of my favorite details of the wedding day.
The ceremony was held outside, overlooking the rolling hills of Murrieta, California. Nicolle and Tyse decorated the ceremony space with three large arches that were covered in greenery. They also had a live pianist and violinist to greet the guest as everyone took their seats. It was the perfect sunny summer day to say I do.
While the guest were enjoying cocktail hour, we photographed Nicolle and Tyse’s couples portraits. We took elevated and timeless couple portraits outside and all around the estate, and then we headed inside for some fun direct flash photos. This was a great time to get creative and snap some unique, vintage, and stylish portraits of the newlyweds.
The reception was also held outside and under the stars. Nicolle, Tyse, and all their family and friends experienced a beautiful evening. From touching toasts, to emotional first dances, to a huge dance party the end the night, this reception had a little touch of everything.
