Modern Elopement at Joshua Tree National Park

I am beyond excited to share all the details of Cindy and Johnny’s beautiful SoCal wedding day with you guys. Johnny and Cindy kept their wedding day simple with a beautiful backyard wedding, but the next day we all traveled out to Joshua Tree National Park to take some beautiful elopement portraits of them in their wedding attire.

The bride

Cindy was one of the most stunning brides. She wore a Jenny Yoo wedding dress that was simple and sleek. To add a little creative pop to her wedding look she wore Cinq gloves that were lace and added a little off the shoulder sleeve look to her dress. She finished the look off with a classic pair of Gold Jimmy Choo’s. Her hair was in loose waves and her makeup was clean and stunning. Cindy later changed into a a simple skirt and top so that she could dance the night away. Make sure to take a look at the stunning photos of Cindy below.

The wedding day

Cindy got ready in a hotel and then headed straight to the location she would marry the love of her life. Cindy and Johnny’s wedding was held at a family members house, a beautiful backyard wedding in Southern California. The ceremony site backdrop was the beautiful California scenery of mountains and with the occasional deer frolicking about in the background. They held their reception under the stars in their family’s backyard, with string lights hanging and beautiful table settings with lots of pampas and other desert details.

The couple

Cindy and Johnny were so amazing to work with for their wedding! They were so kind, down to earth, and overall amazing people. I loved getting to be a part of their intimate wedding day and watching them have the times of their lives with their family and friends and then again the next day for their bridal portrait session in Joshua Tree!

Thinking of doing a portrait session on a different day than your actual wedding? This is exactly what Cindy and Johnny did and here are a couple of reasons that’s a great idea. Looking to not focus so much on photos on your wedding day and just be present with your friends and family? This may be a great choice for you. Also, some wedding locations don’t have the most photo opt locations for various reasons, so having wedding portraits on a different day in a beautiful location you love is definitely a good option. Lastly, why not travel to one or the beautiful corners or the world and take some photos of you and the love of your life? The options are endless!

 Joshua tree

Cindy, Johnny, and I all road tripped out to Joshua Tree, one of the many incredible locations in Southern California, the day after their wedding. These wedding portraits were one for the books. Both decked out in their stunning wedding attire, we spent golden hour frolicking through the California desert, with the amazing Joshua trees and rocky terrain surrounding us. This session gave off all the elopement vibes, but without it being an actual elopement (the best of both worlds for this couple).

Johnny and Cindy’s wedding was stunning, intimate, and so customized. I loved everything single part of their wedding day and their Elopement in Joshua Tree. Thinking about splitting up your wedding portraits into multiple days? What are you waiting for! Reach out and we can get to planning not one but two special days for you and your lover.
